I am seeking an agent for Doheny Drive and sending query letters with my fingers crossed! Though there are many literary agents and agencies, securing representation, getting one of the Big Five publishers to launch your book, and selling tens of thousands of copies – or more – is beyond daunting! Most would say impossible. […]

When an author narrows down their list of early readers through trial and error, dart throws, or recommendations, they acknowledge that they made decisions and provided guidance based on variables they deemed essential. The flip side is that they then need to seriously consider that feedback. We begin with a very clear request to the

I am putting the finishing touches on my query and synopsis for Doheny Drive: Three Boys and The Girl. As always, that is easier said than done! Cross your fingers that I hook an agent. I have decided which manuscript to write next, but I’ll ponder the issue further while visiting our granddaughter, Princess Charlotte,

An insanely busy December preceded an insanely busy January. The family Christmas gathering in Sedona was extraordinary and everything we hoped for, but it ranks as the second-best highlight of our time together, eclipsed by news that our oldest daughter and her husband are expecting their first child. I’ve been known to say the most

Another stellar road trip for my wife and me to visit our precious granddaughter, Charlotte, and her amazing parents in Orange County. The main event was a beautiful baptism ceremony attended by family and friends from both sides of Charlotte’s family tree. On the day of the celebration, we met with a few of my

We stayed at a hotel on the marina and walked the boardwalk, parks, and stunning surroundings, including Doheny Beach, which the Beach

Life is so busy today, and you readers have only so much personal to read books, including stories from emerging authors like Ken Cruickshank. We spent two weeks in Southern California visiting relatives, with special attention given to our son and daughter-in-law and extra special devotion to our granddaughter, Princess Charlotte, who brings immense joy to many. Attached are a few photos taken during walks in the neighborhood where we stayed. It’s a slice of heaven. We left warm

The attached photos offer glimpses of our courtyard bench and entry to my wife’s art studio. They are simple items that put me in a good mood. It’s important to smell the roses on our life journeys, right? These are some of my Sonoran Desert roses! I am pleased with the number of paperback and
