Mine is a writer’s life: Back at it!

Another stellar road trip for my wife and me to visit our precious granddaughter, Charlotte, and her amazing parents in Orange County. The main event was a beautiful baptism ceremony attended by family and friends from both sides of Charlotte’s family tree. On the day of the celebration, we met with a few of my siblings and their families at a park on the water near the large statue of Dana Point namesake, Richard Henry Dana, Jr. The weather was perfect, and the gourmet Thai chicken pizza was superb! (If you live in the Dana Point area and love pizza, then you probably already know about Beach Harbor Pizza on the marina. If not, give it a try – it was delish!) Dinner at Sol Agave was a nice treat and scrumptious – thank you, Ken and Zoë. We returned home to the Sonoran Desert with great memories and a boatload of photos and videos of Princess Charlotte.

It is too difficult for me to write during road trips, a disappointment since I write every day at home and thoroughly enjoy the challenge and the process. My wife believes the random breaks are good for me, and she’s probably right about that. Besides, our schedules are always packed when we cross the Orange County line, so it’s probably unrealistic to assume I could get quality writing done even if my health allowed it (I cannot type due to advanced MS and use speech-to-text: Dragon). But I have been “typing” aggressively the past few days. That’s imperative; I must finish Doheny Drive!

Cheers from the Sonoran Desert of Arizona,
