When an author narrows down their list of early readers through trial and error, dart throws, or recommendations, they acknowledge that they made decisions and provided guidance based on variables they deemed essential. The flip side is that they then need to seriously consider that feedback. We begin with a very clear request to the gracious early readers who read our manuscripts: Be critical! I love getting blunt, critical feedback – it inevitably makes my stories better. Thank you, early readers, for taking the time to devour something I created. I sincerely appreciate it.
