I have completed another full edit of Doheny Drive: Three Boys and The Girl. I added 5000 words along with creative introductions that capture the essence of each surprising chapter. It is a generational story of friendship, unyielding love, tragedy, trials, and redemption. No one has made it through without tearing up. I hope it resonates with people seeking compelling character studies of genuinely good people facing unexpected trials and fighting to persevere. The story begins in 1971 and will continue to evoke strong feelings long after the last paragraph of the final chapter, set six decades later. Despite the inevitable hardships life can dole out, this is ultimately a very uplifting tale. I’ll be handing it out to another group of early readers later this week. Hope they love it!
We are off to Sedona for a dear friend’s daughter’s wedding! Four days later, we trek to San Clemente for a family reunion, where my wife and I will meet our NYC grandchild, Sabrina, for the first time! We are already deliriously in love with little Sabrina, but we need hugs and love! I can no longer fly, so this momentous event has been delayed by a few months. But Sabrina, here we come in our custom van! We also get to visit with our first grandchild and Sabrina’s cousin, the indomitable, three-year-old Princess Charlotte! Finally, we will hug our daughter-in-law, Zoë, who is pregnant with Charlotte’s future sibling!
