An insanely busy December preceded an insanely busy January. The family Christmas gathering in Sedona was extraordinary and everything we hoped for, but it ranks as the second-best highlight of our time together, eclipsed by news that our oldest daughter and her husband are expecting their first child. I’ve been known to say the most important things in life are God and family, and I celebrate because a child born represents both. I was unwaveringly convinced I knew the gender of their developing child, and, of course, I was 100% incorrect. I’ll update you on that detail in four months.

I am busting my butt to finish Doheny Drive and am making significant headway (the first chapter is posted below). I’ll definitely be finished by the end of March. I’ve been trying to pound out 2000 words a day. Some days I achieve that, but others are more challenging. I write every day and never have writer’s block, but my chronic illness-related fatigue and poor dexterity frustratingly slow the process down. No excuses! I hope you’ll find it engaging and surprising. It reads utterly different from my other books.
