We are back in Arizona after our stellar visit to the Golden State! We began with three days in Dana Point, where we visited Princess Charlotte, one son, daughter, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and brother. We stayed at a hotel on the marina and walked the boardwalk, parks, and stunning surroundings, including Doheny Beach, which the Beach Boys sang about, and which plays a role in my next novel. Next we drove north to Kentfield for our brother-in-law’s life celebration, which included a Friday night dinner at the yacht club, an amazing celebration with extended family, friends, and memorable entertainment on Saturday, and capped off with a perfect brunch on Sunday. Kudos to my sister and her boys for coordinating such a joyful and heartfelt memorial for a man they desperately miss and we all fondly remember. Then it was off to Santa Barbara to visit my wife’s aunt and uncle, where we shared a delightful dinner at an amazing restaurant they had gotten engaged at thirty-nine years earlier. We had been to Santa Barbara before, but the trip reminded us how beautiful that part of California is. As a trip bonus, we fit in visits with dear friends we hadn’t seen for years in Oceanside and San Rafael. All in all, it was another unforgettable Ken and Karen road trip! None of these excursions would happen without my wife’s tireless efforts! (I’m a complicator.)
If healthy, I would pump out manuscripts at a much faster clip! I’m not offering excuses or whining about a life with disease. I’m super fortunate, have an incredible partner, and am blessed with amazing children, in-laws, and granddaughter (you’ve heard about Princess Charlotte, right?) But this damn MS and associated hurdles slow this author down. Not to worry! I keep my head down and am making progress. Come on, Ken, finish Doheny Drive and keep marketing your books!
