Mine is a writer’s life: Proof copies of The Emerald Cross arrived!

After a busy week visiting Princess Charlotte and her parents in Southern California, I am frantically preparing for the June 14 launch of The Emerald Cross while writing Doheny Drive and squeezing in some reading (I just finished All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr). I received the Amazon Not for Resale author proofs and am waiting for the Ingram equivalents, which will hopefully be ordered by independent bookstores in the future.

I am pleased to report that no rattlesnakes have nestled near our front door as temperatures rise in Arizona – they did twice the previous year! One was a Mojave Green, which Alexa (does everyone own an Alexa?) will tell you is the most poisonous rattlesnake in North America. And my wife just barely dodged getting bitten by one at the front door a year ago! Surprises abound in the untamed Sonoran Desert.

Cheers from Arizona
