Yes, I’ve been known to say, perhaps ad nauseum: It’s All about Family. I’m one of ten children (dear God, what were you thinking, Mom and Dad?) with six of my own: a son, two daughters, two sons- and one daughter-in-law, and a perennial wife/mother of the year. Oh, and the most entertaining and popular member of Clan Cruickshank, two-year-old Princess Charlotte! Never a day goes by that I don’t remind myself how fortunate I am to be part of such a vast network of family on both sides of our tree. Every person similarly advantaged should spend ample time counting their lucky stars. Pair great friends with wonderful family, and the rich get richer. Sadly, not everyone grew up in a loving and nurturing home with friends down the street or at school who made them feel good.

Editing my books is a sickness, I freely admit. Seriously, there might be something wrong with me. Over the previous week, I found thirty-two edits inside the pages of The Emerald Cross, even though I told everyone there would be no more wordsmithing after who knows how many previous full edits. Some of the changes were absolutely necessary due to oversights (even after those many read-throughs), but perhaps most teetered on the edge of “no one would ever notice.” If I tell you any of my manuscripts are “final,” you should absolutely disregard the words, even if stated with great conviction. Anything and everything can be further edited, no matter what any other author might tell you. Anyway, The Emerald Cross is indeed finished (hold me to this). The files have been uploaded to Ingram and Amazon, and I nervously await the book’s July 14 launch. If you love heart-pounding, high-stakes thrillers, The Emerald Cross might be just the book for you. Look for the book blurb and editorial reviews at www.kencruickshank.com or http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPCJNX59.

I’ll be busy marketing The Emerald Cross for months, but I am also making headway on Doheny Drive! Stay tuned.

Cheers from the Sonoran Desert,

Ken Cruickshank
